  The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, has declared openly the abolishment of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS). He made the declaration around 1.30 pm at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. He said the police unit is dissolved across all formations, the 36 state commands, and the Federal Capital Territory.  He said officers and men currently serving in the unit are to be redeployed with immediate effect.   The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned observers,  blogs owners, especially the partisan ones, to stop uploading fake reports, emphasizing that official reports of the Edo election are still under the coalition.  The INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, cautioned all partisans who have been uploading one result or the other to desist from these barbarous acts, adding that it is not democratically right and it could affect our democracy negatively.  "The results from polling units in each local government are still in coalition centers, still expecting them at the central coalition center where the official announcement will be made," he said, "all Nigerians, especially the Edolites, should be expecting transparency as it will be televised live on national television."

  Lagos State Government has joined its international counterparts, New York and New Jersey, in authorizing schools to begin reopening.  Walking in the path of well-known states in the world, especially New York City and New Jersey whose schools reopened three weeks ago, the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced that tertiary institutions in the state will reopen from September 14, while primary and secondary schools would re-open from September 21, 2020.
