Excited Nigerians on Saturday yelled the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed as they examined the Lagos-Ibadan current model rail project.  This embarked task of the two ministers was like a festive period as many Nigerians were at each station hailing them alongside some management personnel of the Nigerian Railway company (NRC). The inspection, which commenced at Ebute-Metta Junction (EBJ) Rail Station, saw the ministers and other NRC management team, ride on the narrow gauge corridor to Apapa port to monitor the standard gauge track laying and the rail station. The team, which returned to EBJ, boarded the new train at Tejuosho, Yaba, and embarked on a ride to Ibadan in Oyo State.  The government officials stopped at Agege to the admiration of many residents who stood by both sides to cheer the team over the new trains. At the Agege rail station under construction, Amaechi told the contractor...

Somaliland President boxes his Vice on live TV program after a disagreement between the two of them.  It has shown that the undemocratic character of some political leaders in some parts of African countries could only be corrected with God's intervention.  These leaders all went to school which we all believe is the bedrock of civilization.

The RevolutionNow group has taken to the social media and street to celebrate the 2-year-old of the establishment of the movement, today Saturday 15 August 2020.  The affiliate of the group, African Action Congress, is celebrated along with the group as both groups are managed by the same like minds. The group, which is known for her calling and propagation for good governance and corruption-free government, stated that the group will not relent in her duties in challenging the oppressors of the common citizens in Nigeria until they change for good.  The leader of the group, Omoyele Sowore, has made it known to Nigerians that the group is meant to fight for freedom for all citizens.   Journalists are well-trained people that need to be respected on any occasion they find themselves.   Correspondent of The Nation Newspaper, Mr. Linus Oota was attacked on Wednesday, 12 August 2020, by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in Nasarawa. Is this unfortunate happening to a journalist in a state of democratic ruling not worth writing about? I will not only focus on that horrible situation that happened to a colleague of mine in Nasarawa, but my concerns will base on journalism and journalists in general in Nigeria's environment.  My first question before I proceed is: "Do our journalists really complete in nature without being taught how to create self-defense if the occasion calls for that?"  Well, it is true that the different courses offered by the institutions of mass communication are enough to make a Student a-whole journalist. But is it not high time, however, the institutions added security training to its offered courses? My colleagues, th...

Spanish professional footballer, who plays as a center-back for Barcelona, Gerard Piqué Bernabeu, has described the football match between his football club and Bayern Munich, which resulted in 8-2, as a humiliating defeat.  Piqué, who is considered to be one of the best defenders in the world, said, via his social media handle, that his football club needed to consider some vital things in the club before things get out of hand. He said, "The club needs changes, and I'm not talking about the coach or the players." "I am the first to offer myself to leave Barça if new blood is to come. We all have to think about what's best for Barça."  "It was horrible, a disastrous feeling, shame is the right word... You can't go play in the Champions League like that, it's not the first or the second time... It's very difficult, I hope this result will help us in some way or another."  "We've hit rock bottom." "I ask for forgivene...
