Your Attention Is Needed In Sambisa Forest Not On The Nigeria Citizens - ANYRI Leader Admonishes Nigeria Armed Forces, Calls RevolutionNow group To Order
By Ibrahim Kegbegbe
Leader of All Nigeria Youths Reoriented Initiative, (ANYRI), Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has urged the RevolutionNow group, led by comrade Omoyele Sowore, to use another method to call the attention of the federal government to national misappropriation of funds and other related issues, urging the Nigeria armed forces to look out for bandits, not law-abiding citizens.
Ajadi met with the journalists at his office, 103 Oja bus stop, Egbeda-Idimu road, today 6 August where he admonished the group leaders to change the tactics of RevolutionNow as he felt that national revolution would not be planned but should rather come into being unconscious.
For the records, Sowore led 5,100 students in protest against the Nigerian government in 1992.
He was also involved in the demand for a democratic government taking over military rule on June 12, 1993. This resulted in several arrests, detention, and life-threatening treatment by government officials.
The past and present protest called RevolutionNow has been initiated by Sowore to fight against corrupt and wrong government policies.
Ajadi said truly the national revolutions in developed countries like Germany, France, and others of their kind came into being without being planned or fixed but Nigerians have not grown up to that stage of fighting against corruption and wrong government policies massively.
According to him, Yellow-vest motion is politically motivated after a formal request by the citizens of France in May 2018, that rising of fuel price; the high cost of living and the government's tax on working and middle class should be drastically reduced.
He moved further to say as the government of France had not looked into this motion, it later to a mass demonstration on 17 November 2018. This political movement has spread widely to other parts of Europe and the Middle East where the protesters have called for lower taxes and the raising of the minimum wage.
He said, "The protesters from France have called for the resignation of Emmanuel Macron as president of France if these agendas were not considered but Macron government quickly attended to national issues."
"The revolution in Germany started unconsciously as citizens just started parking their cars at expressway and started walking to the statehouse to show their grievances over the increase in fuel price."
"In addition, Despite the fact that Nigerians have not woken up for the right of citizens to protest, Nigerian armed forces should know that it is wrong to torture or maltreat citizens who engage in any way to show their grievances besides unlawful ways."
"If really you love your country as armed forces, I would be grateful if you could go to Sambisa Forest to tackle Boko Haram not treating the innocent citizens badly."
"However, it will be highly appreciable in Nigeria, if Nigerians see the struggles of RevolutionNow as a fight that should be fought by all Nigerians. If not, comrade Sowore should look for another means," he said, "Tell Nigerians the reason for RevolutionNow."
